The Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam is excited to celebrate the release of
&quot;Next On The Mic&quot;, this Sunday, September 16th!   Poetry Jam
Collective and Rounder Records celebrate the release of &ldquo;Next On
The Mic&rdquo;. A compilation CD of poetry accompanied by
improvisational music recorded live at the Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam in
Cambridge MA and with a live studio audience at Hi-N-Dry studios also
in Cambridge. The official release date was August 28th, 2007.
&ldquo;Next On The Mic&rdquo; features some of the best performance
poets in the United States and some up and comers that will surely
catch your attention. Award winning poets Patricia Smith, Quincy
Troupe and Askia Toure, poetry slam champions Regie Gibson, Bryonn
Bain and Iyeoka Okoawo and outstanding&nbsp; talents Nicole Terez and
Eric Darby are featured on the CD. The poetry is accompanied by the
Jeff Robinson Trio.&nbsp; This Sunday&#39;s release party will feature
Nicole Terez, Askia Toure, Iyeoka Okoawo and Regie Gibson.  The
collaboration between the poets and musicians on the CD is
inspirational and immediate as the musicians spontaneously improvise
to the wonderful images these outstanding poets present. Various
themes are interwoven throughout the CD and you will hear poetry about
music icons James Brown and Miles Davis, poems about hope, war, sex,
politics, parents and more.   The CD is produced by actor/saxophonist
Jeff Robinson who is also the founder of Poetry Jam Collective which
is based in Cambridge MA and born at the Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam. An
assembly of poets who collaborate nationally to produced events,
recordings of spoken word, poetry, comedy and music.&nbsp; Click Here
