I agree with that. Putting
setenv SHELL /bin/zsh
exec /bin/zsh
In .login is the best way. This starts the desired shell and also has
the desirable effect that the system starts /bin/zsh whenever it needs
a new shell. This solution avoids problems with Autoconf.
