this is a Libtool question. It belongs on neither autoconf nor the
autoconf-patches list.

I agree this is a problem; this is one of the setups that libtool
doesn't support well yet. Temporarily moving
/tools/eldk/4.2/ppc_4xx/usr/lib/libltdl.la
or rewriting its libdir entry should help.
