Agreed. I would think that the *new code* itself would be fine. I agree that
*how it gets built*
should be looked at.
Unfortunately, I haven't even closely looked at what Martin wrote. :-/

Anything that touches the autoconf scripts would probably have to be looked
over by more
experienced eyes, such as Ted or Joerg.
