I have troubles reproducing this error. It seems that when I compile 
beaver without DEBUG_FCN then it works fine. if I compile it with then 
it crashes but only if I do not use gdb to track the error. If I use gdb 
it seems not to crash. also I saw that the color picker does not really 
insert the color that I picked.
