Yeah I saw that. No problem I just move it around :-) I had
the plan to do this stuff in interface.c and not in
editor.c (then everything interface related is in
interface.c which is not the best solution since it get's
bigger and bigger any day :-)). But this really doesn't
matter. 

When I understand it right, the 80-char marker line has to
be redrawn every time the widget get's redrawn (that's this
expose-event thing right?). The problem I see is to
attach/deattach those signals from the textviews when the
user deactivates the 80-char marker from the preferences
dialog. But I think I will come up with someting :-)

would it be a good idea to upload the documentation also on
the page?

What i also noticed today (because I had to go to that page
a lot ^^) is the way gtk.org handles their internet
presentation. a logo on top, then a menu and then the text.
It would be nice to have some sort of menu too. The menu
would only consist of "Home, Download, Plugins,
Documentation".
