Details:

However a practical thing I would see handy (besides using the TecKit) is
that Bibledit can directly import from PT6 / PT7 zipped files containing the
books.

I hope it is a minor issue to avoid the unpacking by the user (at least in
Java it would be) but it makes the thing much more handy for the people here
that they can do in Paratext a Backup. Most people have problems doing Backups
in PT6 because of it's idiosynchrasies.

If they have managed to put a zip file on a pendrive it would be handy that
the Linux computer with Bibledit can directly import it.

This is just a first thought and has to be worked out more thouroughly.
But it means that we have to look for compatibility/data exchange on this
level.

An area where BE could excel as well is the area of archiving these ZIP
files. But I have to think more about this. Fact is that we here in Tamale do
not have an archive of scripture texts at all (OK, we have CD's in a chest of
drawers, but the whole thing is rather unsystematic. However better than
nothing at all)

As BE started out for Biblerevision work (Ndebele) I could be that this would
continue to be a focus. For example the Konkomba Bible is sold out (10000
copies) and is beeing revised.
