Follow-up Comment #1:

Since this request was put in, a lot has changed. For example, subversion is
no longer used, but it uses git instead. About the distracting information
about subversion (git), that has been changed too. It now only displays the
tasks if there are more than 100 of then, so under normal circumstances no
information is given. So that means that the main idea of this task has been
implemented. Git cannot be switched off entirely, because Bibledit uses it
internally for its history and changes tracker.
