Hi Teus,
Today I installed Ubuntu 8.04, and tried to install BE 3.2.28.
Then following your instructions below (to continue with
./configure): in order to find out how it works with Help:
./configure: error: libcurl3 => 7.0.0 is needed
Checked with Synaptic:
libcurl3-dbg 7.18.0-1unbuntu2 was available to be installed
I installed it, and:
./configure: error: libcurl3 => 7.0.0 is needed
Installed libwww-curl-perl (the last libcurl file not installed), again:
./configure: error: libcurl3 => 7.0.0 is needed
Any idea, what could be missing?

Hi Wolfgang,
I am not aware of any change in the procedure to build bibledit from
the git repository. The normal procedure should work as it always
did. If it says "already up-to-date", then the ./configure, make,
and make install sequence should do the job.
If the local search is not working, then pls. file a bug report, and
it will be looked into. When doing it from the site, the local
search won't work, only the google one. The local one should work
for the local installation, not from the internet.
If be gets installed, then the help browser will come up when asking
for online help, e.g. from a dialog. If be does not get installed,
what are the errors?
Teus.

Hi Teus
Cannot update from BE 3.2.27 to BE 3.2.28:
The git pull procedure tells me:
- Helpbrowser moved from Gecko to GtkHtml3, and
- Already up-to-date.
On the other hand, working with the helpfile (in Windows XP) from
http://www.nongnu.org/bibledit/, the Other/Local search does not
work any more.
?? Is there any connection with the moving of the help browser and
the Local search not working
?? How to see the Helpbrowser from GtkHtml3
?? How to get BE 3.2.28 installed
Wolfgang
