I don't have an answer to your question but would like to point out that
FieldWorks is now in the process of being ported over to Linux. (They're
starting by replacing the SQL Server back end with Firebird, I believe.)
I think that's still a year or two away, but once that happens, FW
Translation Editor should be an option on Linux. Down the road, FW will
likely have the best adaptation/back-translation capabilities,
especially for agglutinative languages that really need a parser. (For
this reason, I'd choose Toolbox or CARLA over Adapt-It at this point,
for those languages.)
