It is you interpreting the stuff I wrote in that way: I noticed that this
IDE is using that information, and said that the scanner should facilitate
that such information can be derived.

So then it would be more helpful if you would have started at that point,
give the URL's of this works, so that could be used as inputs for the
non_GNU projects such as Flex.

But I think that any Flex locations support of Flex should be that of lexer
efficiency, not any GNU standards or standards proposals.
