Building ddd-3.2.1

Hi!

I'm trying to build ddd-3.2.1 on RedHat 7.0 with gcc 2.96 20000731 but
the build stop at file PannedGE.C
with the following error:

PannedGE.C: In function `void __static_initialization_and_destruction_0
(int, int)':
PannedGE.C:99 non-lvalue in unary `&'
make[1]: *** [PannedGE.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/ddd-3.2.1/ddd'
make: *** [all] Error 1

Why ? what ddd version should I use to be able to build without errors ?

There is also a warning for file VSLRead.C at line 113 in function
VSLLib_parse () about an unused variable `YYSTYPE *vslvs1'
