(resending as plain text)

Hi,

I'm getting a segmentation fault running (well just starting) ddd 3.3
on some Solaris 2.6 boxes but not others (the difference between the
boxes being patch levels on the various O-S components). I was
wondering whether you had had reports from others users and perhaps
knew of any Solaris 2.6 patches that need to be applied ?

On a good box:

   ./ddd --configuration
   GNU DDD 3.3 (sparc-sun-solaris2.6)
   Copyright (C) 1995-1999 Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany.
   Copyright (C) 1999-2001 Universität Passau, Germany.

   Compiled with GCC 2.95.3 20010315 (release), libstdc++ 2.8.0
   Requires X11R6, Xt11R6, Motif 1.2.6 (OSF/Motif Version 1.2.6)
   Includes XPM 3.4.11, Athena Panner, DDD core
   Built 2001-04-11 by Source Code Administrator <unknown>.

   ./ddd --check-configuration
   Checking for X11 library directory... /usr/openwin/lib/X11
   Checking for XKeysymDB... /usr/openwin/lib/X11/XKeysymDB
   No configuration problems found.

On a bad box:

   ./ddd --configuration
   GNU DDD 3.3 (sparc-sun-solaris2.6)
   Copyright (C) 1995-1999 Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany.
   Copyright (C) 1999-2001 Universität Passau, Germany.

   Compiled with GCC 2.95.3 20010315 (release), libstdc++ 2.8.0
   Requires X11R6, Xt11R6, Motif 1.2.6 (OSF/Motif Version 1.2.6)
   Includes XPM 3.4.11, Athena Panner, DDD core
   Built 2001-04-11 by Source Code Administrator <unknown>.

   ./ddd --check-configuration
   Internal error (Segmentation Fault).

The /usr/openwin/lib/X11/XKeysymDB this looks at is the same on both
good & bad boxes.

We're using GNU gdb 5.0. Both it and ddd 3.3 were compiled with gcc
2.95.3.

Below is the log output. The /usr/openwin/lib/libXt.so.4 before it
chokes is exactly the same on good and bad boxes.

Thank you for any help you can give.
Judith
