DDD command history bug

From: John Eklund

Dear developers,
Apparently DDD v3.3 has problems saving and utilizing the command
history. Version 2.0 did not have this problem.

When starting DDD, neither ~/.ddd/history (a temporary file?) nor the
history file selected using "set history filename" seem to be utilized,
thus the history as loaded into DDD is empty. After exiting DDD, both
files are overwritten instead of appended to and will only contain the
commands entered during the last session. (Old lines removed.) Even if
setting the options "set history save on" and "set history expansion on",
DDD still overwrites the complete history list instead of appending to it.

In effect, the history does not work and pressing the "arrow up" key
has no effect.

I have been supervising assembly language programming courses at
Mälardalen University in Sweden ( http://www.idt.mdh.se/ ) for a few
years. Previously when we used DDD v2.0 we didn't have this problem.
It occurred only after switching to DDD v3.3.

Best regards
John Eklund, Sweden
