DDD segmentation fault

Dear developer,

after carefully reading the bug submitting instructions I would like to 
submit the following problem I have encountered using ddd:

What I was doing...

1. I was logged in as user with a remote Linux box via a ssh
connection over the
   local network
2. I switched to root using 'su'
3. (no DISPLAY was set)
4. I started ddd &
5. xterm failed with
             connection to host:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server
shutdown).

host:/home/rund # 5989: X11 connection rejected because of wrong
authentication.

Internal error (Segmentation fault).

How I solved the problem

I set the DISPLAY environment variable: exprot DISPLAY=host:0.0

ddd --check-configuration
5989: X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
