DDD 3.3.8 (i386-redhat-linux-gnu) gets 'BadWindow' error

I think I found a bug in the current fedora/redhat rpm version of ddd. I searched the list archive and only found one other reference to something similar and no resolution. I thought I'd send my results and see if that provides any clues for people "in the know".

What I was doing;

Simply started ddd with 

ddd  <executable>

This was using X11 Forwarding via ssh, although I don't think this should matter.
