It fixed the intro problem in truecolor mode.

I rebuilt a snapshot so you can test:

- download this:
  http://www.freedink.org/snapshots/woe/freedink-1.08.20090830.exe

- and replace your "freedink.exe" with it.

This doesn't look like a bug in FreeDink, but a bug in Pilgrim Quest,
so you could add a new post at the Dink Network forum.
