Follow-up Comment #1:
The INSTALL.windows file lists the supported environments for building mingw
binaries. MSYS2 is not among these supported environments.
In the Cygwin environment, it works for me.
So, if you insist in wanting to use the MSYS2 environment, you'll have to
investigate the issue by yourself. For me, the error message indicates that it
is building the gnulib module 'fnmatch', after 'configure' has found out that
fnmatch is not supported by mingw. While doing so, it uses a wrong fnmatch.h
file.
