Problems compiling glibc2.1.3

Hi folks, 

   I am tring to compile from scratch glibc2.1.3, but I am having
problems with the ./configure.
Here is the output:

I couldn't understand what's the program missing, because I have already
the requirements in the INSTALL file. I also see how gcc 2.7.2.3 is not
considered optimal, but I don't want to re-install all my system.
Could you help me?

My system is a Slakware Linux 2.2.6.
