Alan Cox says it is a glibc bug.

I have a small favor to ask.  The glibc docs say that it runs on the Hurd.
Can some glibc developer with access to a Hurd box with glibc please
compile and run http://peterb.telerama.com/thread-test.c under gdb and see
if it shows the same behavior?  Please?  Pretty please?
