test-lfs fails for glibc-2.2.2

Hi,

I just tried to updtae glibc from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2.
I use a 2.4.0-ac11 kernel with reiserfs.

All tests beside test-lfs worked but I had to upgrade binutils from
stable 2.10.1 to devel 2.10.1.0.7. :-/
I tried to updated my patched gcc 2.95.2 to 2.95.2.1 but that did not
help.
Since the lfs test timed out I tried to increase the timout value from
20 to 40 in test-lfs.c. After that it worked.
test-lfs faild sometimes for 2.2.1 too but for 2.2.2 it always failed.
I'm using a PIII/500 with 128MB and I'm wondering why it is neccesary to

increase the timeout value.
