nss_db-2.2 compile error

I configured glibc2.2.2 with the nss_db-2.2, nss_lwres-0.92 and 
linuxthreads add-ons. After make -C nss_db-2.2 subdir_lib I got 
the following error message:

  make[2]: Entering directory '/usr/src/glibc-2.2.2/nss_db-2.2'
  make[2]: *** No rule to make target 'subdir_lib'. Stop
  make[2]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/glibc-2.2.2/nss_db-2.2'
  make[1]: *** [nss_db-2.2/subdir_lib] Error 2
  make[1]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/glibc-2.2.2'
  make: *** [all] Error 2

Is this a problem with the makefile? What is the cause of this error
and how do I fix it? Thanks.

I am upgrading from glibc2.1.3 compiled with GCC egcs-2.91.66,
kernel 2.2.14. I am using headers from kernel 2.4.5.
