There is one major change in the FAQ format: verbatim lines must start with
at least 3 spaces.  There are many places in the FAQ where verbatim lines
have no spaces in the beginning.  Verbatim fragments begin and end with
something special like ~~~~ or nothing at all.  For generating any output
better than plain text (where everything is monospace) there must be a rule
how to distinguish verbatim text.  The patch is big because there are many
places where this must be fixed.

BTW question `?? I get compiler messages "Initializer element...." must have
tab between `??' and `I get...'.  This affects plain text output.

The rest of the changes are minor.

OK, i'll make a homepage of this generic utility and i'll send the link to
this thread.
