segmentation fault when compiling GLIBC 2.2.4 on Slackware

I was upgrading all my gnu stuff lately and I've been having trouble with GLIBC. The first time I tried this it wouldn't compile. But now it does compile, but the make check fails. Here's my output:

make[2]: Entering directory /usr/src/gnu/glibc-2.2.4/ctype'
make[2]: Nothing to be done for ests'.
make[2]: Leaving directory /usr/src/gnu/glibc-2.2.4/ctype'
make -C intl tests
make[2]: Entering directory /usr/src/gnu/glibc-2.2.4/intl'
/bin/sh -e tst-gettext.sh /usr/src/gnu/glibc-build/
/usr/src/gnu/glibc-build/intl/ \
 /usr/src/gnu/glibc-build/intl/tst-gettext.mtrace
tst-gettext.sh: line 56: 28355 Segmentation fault msgfmt -o
${objpfx}domaindir/existing-locale/LC_MESSAGES/existing-domain.mo
../po/de.po
make[2]: *** [/usr/src/gnu/glibc-build/intl/tst-gettext.out] Error 139
make[2]: Leaving directory /usr/src/gnu/glibc-2.2.4/intl'
make[1]: *** [intl/tests] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory /usr/src/gnu/glibc-2.2.4'
make: *** [check] Error 2

I took a look at the FAQ and did what it said (tried to run the command in the directory the problemw as in), but I got the same message. If you could help me, I would sincerely apreciate it - since I'm now having difficulty compiling other things as a result.

Thanks,

Tim S.
