Darwin port for glibc

Well, since no one else is working on it, I'd like to take a stab at 
porting libc to Apple's Darwin platform (PowerPC) used for OS X.

What needs to be done to formally attach myself to a porting project? Is 
this message enough?

Also, what (if any) resources are available for help during the porting 
process? Is there a mailing list or should I stick with the 
gnu.glibc.bug newsgroup?

It's been years since I've done assembly, but I figure even slow 
progress is better than no progress. <G>
