Assuming you know your chip and how it differs from the ARM, there needn't
be much more work to it than that, at least in theory.  I think it has been
quite a while since any of the previous no-OS standalone ports were tested
or even compiled, so there are likely to be some build problems from bitrot.
Just get started and post when you have problems.

But please start with the current sources, not an old version.
