Greetings !
I'm trying to install Netscape6.2 on FreeBSD-4.3 using the downloaded
installer.
I've enabled linux emulation for FreeBSD but the NS6.2 release notes
indicate that glibc2.1 is required.
My question is: if gcc is installed on FreeBSD, must I also, in this
instance, also install glibc ? Since I am compiling the kernel, etc., I
clearly have C compiler functionality. Is glibc redundant regarding gcc,
part of gcc, gcc enhancing/extending, or what ?
If glibc must be installed, how is avoiding damage to my existing C
functionality done, or is this a concern ?
Appreciatively,
Courtney
