glibc 2.2.5 question

I have successfully installed glibc-2.2.5 on my Linux system with a Pentium 
3 at 450Mhz.  I compiled the library with gcc-2.95.

At the end of the installation document it mentioned that i would have to 
recompile gcc in order for everything to work.  How do i go about 
recompiling the compiler?

I would also like to upgrade to gcc-3.2.  Do i have to recompile gcc-2.95 
first and then build 3.2, or what?

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated,
