Please help me.

Dear people of glibc,
  I am learning linux and trying to build a glibc-2.2.5 on my linux box. I 
got stuck because `make' gave me error. And, I visited the glibc homepage 
and found the link to the glibc bug database. GNU Gnatsweb asked for 
login-name and password, and I got intimidated seeing this. Do I need to be 
a member in order to use the bug database? I've tried to enter Gnatsweb, but 
I got lost and did not know where to look for an answer.
  I am not even sure if what I got is a bug. What do I need to do? Thank 
you!
