Sharon --- Thanks for your detailed thoughts and experiences with
news.admin.net-abuse.sightings, spammer databases and related issues.
Very helpful.

Lisa --- I'm so glad to hear the filtering issues have been resolved at
EZezine. Perhaps I overinterpreted the seriousness of the warning
message you sent to your customers prior to resolution of the problems.
If there were others like me who were under the mistaken impression that
you might be about to sink, I am at least glad everyone is now set
straight. (And I'm happy you're not sinking!)

To all --- I have done a second round of tests with just about opposite
results from the first round. Arg! The tests show that EZezine does
indeed now send successfully to AOL, Yahoo (SpamGuard on), and Hotmail
(medium filtering), as well as my Frontbridge-protected Outlook client.
But NetAtlantic is getting its messages to Yahoo diverted to the Bulk
folder when SpamGuard is on (though not when it's off) and it has a
similar problem with Hotmail (medium filtering) for broadcast messages
but not for confirm and welcome messages. Sheesh! Testing continues...

The issue of how well particular mailing list service providers are
delivering may or may not be of interest to the group in general (unless
people happen to be using a particular provider being discussed). From
the messages I've seen posted in this group, it sounds like a large
percentage of the members are already running lists. So, those of you
who are already doing it successfully, perhaps you can tell me: Other
than testing a service with as many different email clients and ISPs as
possible, are there any other critical factors you can suggest regarding
evaluation of potential delivery problems? I realize there are other
considerations when choosing a service provider---such as cost and bells
& whistles---but delivery percentage seems like the biggie to me...
