problem with res_query() function

Hello Everybody,

  I have a problem in glibc-2.2.5-34 on RH 7.3 while using res_query() 
function.

  I am using res_query() function from 'libresolv' library but after 
getting the result from the DNS server its not closing the UDP sockets it 
had opened to connect to the server. (res_close() is also not working)

  But its closing the sockets on a RH 9.0 with glibc-2.3.2-11.9

  What do I need to do in order to rectify the problem on RH 7.3 
(glibc-2.2.5-34) ???
