Probably it had cygwin in the config.cache. That's a bit of a trap.
The next autoconf, which we're updating to, doesn't cache by default.

I'm not sure what's usual for djgpp, you might need a --prefix.
Richard Dawe has put together a pre-packaged generic i386 build for
djgpp if that helps (see usual djgpp ftp mirrors).
