My personal opinion is that tabs in files should be 8 spaces and
anything else is asking for trouble.  Any decent editor can handle
that and a separate notion of indent level.  But really, this is too
superficial to spend any time worrying about.

You'll have noticed GMP stakes a claim to "mp[zqfn]" and "gmp" as
prefixes in gmp.h (with only a couple of naughty exceptions), and in
libgmp.a to symbols "__gmp".  This should be adequate to avoid
conflicts, and if it's not then it's too bad since it can't be
changed, for upward compatibility.
