Are you perhaps linking or running against an old libgmp?
clz_tab halved in size and a program compiled against longlong.h from
version 4 but linked against version 3 libgmp will probably bomb
badly.
(Remember count_leading_zeros is for internal use, so upward binary
compatibility is not guaranteed.)
