gmp 4.1: assert triggered in test t-cong on alphaev6-dec-osf4.0e

Hi,

after building gmp 4.1 on a DEC Alpha, `make check' triggers an assert
in the mpz tests:

  mode1o.c:108: GNU MP assertion failed: c < d
  FAIL: t-cong

Sources are unpatched from
ftp://ftp.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/gnu/gmp/gmp-4.1.tar.gz,
downloaded today. 

gmp was confifured with:

  ../gmp-4.1-SOURCE/configure --prefix=/usr/home/lidia/gmp-4.1-default
  --enable-assert --disable-cxx --disable-shared CONFIG_SHELL=/bin/bash
  CC=gcc-3.2 CXX=g++-3.2

Output of `gcc-3.2 -v' is:

  Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/alphaev6-dec-osf4.0e/3.2/specs
  Configured with: ../configure --program-suffix=-3.2 
--enable-languages=c,c++,f77,java
  Thread model: single
  gcc version 3.2

Output of `uname -a' is:

  OSF1 selmer V4.0 1091 alpha

Both config.guess and configfsf.guess yield:

  alphaev6-dec-osf4.0e

The assert isn't triggered on a linux machine with a Pentium4 CPU.
