Error while executing configure on a WIN98, CYGWIN system.

From: Ron de
Subject: Error while executing configure on a WIN98, CYGWIN system.
Date: Mon, 27 Jan 2003 12:11:25 -0800 (PST)

Hi there,

I want to report a bug in the newest GMP
version(4.1.2). I encountered it when I did the
./configure --disable-static --enable-shared

step on a Cygwin WIN98 SE system. It was at the end
of the proces. The message was: checking for
suitbable m4... configure:error: No usable m4 in $PATH
or /usr/5bin (see config.log for reasons)

I also used the standard ./configure step and also the
./configure --host=none option. Once it worked, but
then there were errors in the make-file.

This was the exact message.

The message in the config.log is as follows:

This file contains any messages produced by compilers
while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes
a mistake.

It was created by configure, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.52. Invocation command
line was

  $ ./configure --disable-static --enable-shared
