NLS stands for "National Language Support", i.e. the code that makes
radius "speak in tongues". If your native language is English you will
surely not need that, so you may safely disable the feature.

Not quite so. I mean that since I am going to release the new version
within a couple of days (what holds me now are mainly the docs) and
on my box all Makefiles are produced correctly, it could be
counterproductive to try fixing this issue right now. After all, I even
cannot reproduce it. Once the version 1.2 is released I'll set up a BSD
box to investigate this.

Yes, I guess so.
