Quoting Karl Berry <address@hidden>:

   I have uploaded new packages,

Excellent, I will make another pass through it asap. BTW, you might as
well call the next update "g2" (if there's no firefix update in the
meantime), since there are a few people using this.

I added the remove.nonfree script in the CVS repository and added
additional files in it. We should change only what is strictly
needed or it will be very hard later to keep trace of modifications,
better remove files we don't need and not replace them.

Of course we want to keep modifications to a minimum (but no less :).

However, it should be no harder, in terms of the infrastructure, to
update 100 files than 1. The remove.nonfree script can just as well
copy in replacement files as remove bad ones. That's why I suggested a
more generic name :).

I made the iceapeStuff scripts for use on the SeaMonkey source (though
remove.nonfree should be okay for use on Iceweasel also), so the removal script
doesn't get rid of a few nonfree sm images which patch-ia would replace. So,
you might want to add these at the end:

rm -fv ./xpfe/bootstrap/splash.xpm
rm -fv ./xpinstall/wizard/unix/src2/logo.xpm
rm -fv ./themes/classic/communicator/icons/turbo-systray.gif
rm -fv ./themes/modern/communicator/icons/turbo-systray.gif

Everything up to ``echo also we need to remove'' is the same as the removal
script I tested on Iceweasel.

Of course, patch-ia was just for the seamonkey source, and copies in a
.mozconfig for compiling iceape; that wouldn't work for iceweasel. You might
be able to copy/modify some parts of the script for use with iceweasel
(including the parts replacing nonfree sm logos, if you wanted to).

best,
incognu
