I didn't contact them. I believe Giuseppe (or someone else on this list) contacted them about creating a list of libre add-ons before the GNUzilla list came to be. Not much cooperation IIRC.

Today I found the AMO review process [1] and submission criteria [2]. Not much in there related to software freedom other than that you should be diligent about copyright (some of the add-on code I've seen makes me wonder how thorough the review process is), pick a license and be able to show source code of blobs to reviewers. The "treat the user respectfully" requirement seems to have nothing to do with software freedom.
