I am happy to announce the new version of GNU IceCat 17.0.1.

This version is based on Mozilla Firefox version 17.0.1, which was
released on November 30, 2012.

GNU IceCat 17.0.1 sources are available for download here:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnuzilla/17.0/icecat-17.0.1.tar.gz

For convenience, a build for GNU/Linux 32-bit is available:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnuzilla/17.0/icecat-17.0.1-32bit.tar.gz

A build for GNU/Linux 64-bit is also available:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnuzilla/17.0/icecat-17.0.1-64bit.tar.gz

[CHANGES]
* The JavaScript in about:home page has been fixed to provide Duck
Duck Go as a search engine when dom.storage.enabled is disabled (the
default.) See a screenshot of the new page here:
  http://www.gnu.org/software/gnuzilla/images/gnu-icecat.jpg

* Promotional GNU material (graphics) was added as part of the IceCat
  branding package.

* Due to privacy concerns (leaking urls), Safe Browsing has been
  disabled by default.

* Duck Duck is now the default search box. (see more about Duck Duck
  Go and privacy: http://duckduckgo.com/about.html.)

* Firefox 17 and 17.0.1 list of changes (IceCat 17.0.1 corresponds to
  Firefox 17.0.1):

Please report any problem you may experience to the
address@hidden mailing list. Binaries for different systems will
be made available through the mailing list.

Thank you,
