OK lets get this straight. I have NO issue with Firefox and can export 
the passwords using an add-on as there is no basic function in FF for 
that. I can view the file created and it is fine. The same add-on gets 
errors importing the passwords into Icecat so that is no good. I then 
tried copying the entire FF profile across into the Icecat profile (the 
basic one created when you first start Icecat) and did this while both 
FF and Icecat were NOT running. Still no good. So I deleted the Icecat 
profile completely and started it again to get a basic profile and 
copied the key3.db and logins.json across - still no passwords when 
Icecat started. I also run FEBE in both browsers so decided to restore 
passwords from a FF FEBE backup into Icecat using FEBE in Icecat, this 
says it works but again when I try to display passwords there are none.

Now I have found that Icecat does not create a logins.json file when I 
actually store a password in Icecat the normal way, so there is a 
difference between how Icecat stores passwords and how FF 43 does it.

So bottom line here there is NO WAY apparently to move passwords from 
Firefox to Icecat without a huge amount of work either using Keepass or 
some other password utility external to both browsers. This is 
completely unacceptable and needs to be addressed if Icecat is to become 
a useable browser for anyone who is not starting from scratch.
