I would rather bug automake for that. Version 0.3.1 is a
maintenance-bugfix release within the 0.3 series of mailutils;
there was no reason to bump the minor number. We could have
omitted `AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS = readme-alpha', but that doesn't seem
to be a good solution.
