Not to be picky, but it feels to me
$ mail
takes a long time to start up in general.
BTW, Say, perhaps a --readonly option could be added, where we could get
the same enjoyment of poking around our mailbox, without some of the
burden of whatever it does that takes so long. Yes, I see there are
-H, --headers Write a header summary and exit
-p, --print Print all mail to standard output
add: "and exit"
-r, --read Same as -p
say "Same as --print" so we don't have to dig around with the eyes as much.
