That's strange... Please check the contents of the file $infodir/dir
(as usual, $infodir denotes installation prefix for info files).
It should contain the following lines:

GNU libraries
* mailutils: (mailutils).            API for mailboxes and mail
protocols.

GNU utilities
* comsatd: (mailutils)comsatd.       Comsat daemon.
* frm: (mailutils)frm.               List headers from a mailbox.
..etc..

Also check your INFOPATH environment variable. It should
contain $infodir.
