Well the Sage TV folks have created a software equivalent of that hardware device that works in conjunction with the Sage TV Media Center.
The Sage TV Program guide that they provided is pretty standard in it's layout as compared to my local provider guide.
The Video across machines came up fine, but the real test was to go to another location. Some will like it, others may not.
Talk about the venture firms and creators of the site cashing in this is defnitley the deal of the year.
Invariably he will spend about a hour on it, and we will find out that something stupid prevented it to work.
It also had a unique feature that they call Intelligent recording. No credit card needed.
We both have used Gmail quite a bit and I know it is as good or better than the Spam checker we have been running on our own servers.
Its pretty easy to see why. Take for tonight as an example.
He was at a breaking point with HostForWeb.
All goes well till I get to the point of running rsync on the mirror box. It seems a month or so ago he was having trouble with his hosting company HostForWeb. My conclusion was that it was way too late in the game to re-name the media.
Plus Apple continues to let Podcasters play games with the listings.

Is it because these other countries have been quicker to adopt Fiber to the Curb?
I think your mileage is going to vary based upon your network connection and how good you push speed is from your home.

When someone clicks on my RSS link they get a page that when it loads they know is meant for a machine to read and not a human. I was happy to see that the software supported parental controls. com has customers ISP modem turned off! I needed some coffee this morning so I decided to test the Placeshifter video while I was enjoying my coffee at a shop with WiFi.
This feature will record programs that it learns through viewing habits which I thought was pretty novel, a buddy of mine that was at the house says TiVo has a similar feature. Not a high end phone but certainly not a basic phone either.
Your guess is as good as mine we will see if the prediction holds true.
Apparently during that process he may have accidentally scanned the server he was on at HostForWeb. There were a few artifacts but I am not sure if that was because I was on a Wifi connection.
Part of the configuration setup required me to import the channel lineup for my cable provider it was a very easy part of the process.
