hmm - I looked at this on Saturday, but was puzzled that the _first_ usage
did not work (and I saw no difference) but the other uses worked. The
bug is in the macro definition near the top: I had inserted the ".ie"
and ".el" lines _into_ the definition for the ".bP" macro. Moving those
outside (past the ".." line) is the (now) obvious fix.
