Hi,
Hoping to report you some useful piece of info.
parted does not detect correctly my disk partion tables. Might it be
because my HD starts with an NTFS partition?
The print out of parted on my /dev/hda:
Disk geometry for /dev/hda: 0.000-19077.187 megabytes
Disk label type: loop
Minor Start End Filesystem Flags
1 0.000 19077.187 fat16
Information: Don't forget to update /etc/fstab, if necessary.
The real partioning of my disk: (from fdisk)
/dev/hda1 * 1 777 6241221 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda2 2416 2432 136552+ 82 Linux swap
/dev/hda4 778 2415 13157235 f Win95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/hda5 778 1147 2971993+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda6 1148 1912 6144831 b Win95 FAT32
/dev/hda7 1913 2192 2249068+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda8 2193 2284 738958+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda9 2285 2415 1052226 83 Linux
