Details:

If ~/.sourceinstall configuration directory needs to be a symbolic link,
sourceinstall does not start correctly and shows this error:

"cannot access required directory .sourceinstall"

The problem is with the current handling of file type checks when soft linked
directories are involved.

Apply from the top source directory using

$ patch -p0 < sourceinstall-0.3-unreachable_cfgdir.patch
