Hi,
i now commited the preliminary bug fix as final one.
https://dev.lovelyhq.com/libburnia/libisofs/commit/96261585f19894de8514a7ed81b3fede570f5d86
The cause of the situation covers valid use cases and thus will not be
changed. So subsequent adjustment of the protective partition's size
appears to be the right thing to do.
I am still pondering about your enhancement wishes.
- The user defined positioning of appended partitions still needs a more
tangible description how it shall work.
(What information does the user provide when ?
Shall further information be read from the older version of the ISO ?)
- More than 4 GPT partitions and user-defined type GUID is quite
straightforward. (Mainly increase of ISO_MAX_PARTITIONS, adjustment
of input tests for higher partition numbers, and a new API call to
hand over the GUID.)
I will start to work on it when i have fixed another bug which popped
up yesterday: The defaults of xorriso's native command set prevent
production of GPT by
"Program error: GPT partitions 2 and 3 overlap by 64 blocks"
(Workaround is to use command: -compliance no_emul_toc.
which is default in mkisofs emulation.)
Have a nice day :)
Thomas
