New version of The Electric VLSI Design System

I am pleased to announce that
version 6.06 of the Electric VLSI Design System is available.  Visit

for downloads and other products.

As always, the source code is free.  Also, users who have paid for binaries may download updates at the same location.

This release has many minor improvements and some notable major features:

> The ability to speed-up Design Rule Checking by using multiple processors (a multithreaded DRC).

> Better Network Consistency Checking (Electric's LVS system).

> Improvements to the MOSIS CMOS design-rules, including a scalable transistor (a limited form of parameterized layout).

> A very early Mac OS/X implementation (still buggy: needs help).
